Duty Free America Bargaining Update
/On June 13 we had our first bargaining date, and we came prepared with lots of proposals ready to pass across the table. The employer, however, came with none.
Progress was made with increases to the PIC premium, improved scheduling language, and internal job postings. The employer, however, rejected nearly all of the Union’s wage proposals, PTO proposals and holiday proposals, and gave a counter-offer of a measly five cent increase on wages. The team agrees that five cents won’t pay the rent.
Our next bargaining date is July 16. The time is now to get involved. Please reach out to your Union representative Allison Hanley at 206-436-6586 with any questions or concerns.
